Painting a Pop Up Shop

Completed May 1, 2012

A pop up cured meat shop was making an appearance in and around London. I helped to make plain MDF and white stools look old and worn by sanding edges and painting.

Design & Construction

We created the aged effect on the wood by sanding away any crisp corners and clean edges. We used a wash to start with, by washing on the paint it gives you a good covering and as it's watery paint it finds and sits in any crevasses helping to start the ageing process. We dry brushed a darker brown in corners and anywhere where dirt and grim would gather naturally over time. Some high lights were added to certian bits of wood.

The polished Ikea stools were sanded back and broken down.
